Barbie Movie 2023 Inspired Morning Routine
It’s Barbie’s world, and we just living in it. If you have been keeping up with the latest in pop culture (if not, seriously, where have you been) then you would know of the hottest movie out now; Barbie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. It’s been everywhere on socials influencing our fashion, music, makeup and hair. I thought it was fun this week to live and wake up like Barbie and do a Barbie-themed morning routine because why not?
Here are some morning routine ideas to follow to feel like a Barbie:
Positive Affirmations
To live like a Barbie this morning, you’ve got to embody Barbie. From my observations, Barbie has a highly positive spirit. She’s very enthusiastic, joyful, confident and does things with intention. I would say she has a lot of self-love. She pours into her cup, which is a great thing to practice. One way you can do this is by listing positive affirmations and reciting them either out loud or in your mind. What a great way to wake up. This sets the tone and mood of your day. Three podcasts I recommend listening to for positive affirmations are:
Journaling
After nourishing the mind and soul with positive affirmations, take out your journal and start writing. Journaling is a great way to boost your mental health. It allows us to escape our minds, write down our thoughts, and talk about things. The movie has themes of what’s the meaning of life and life’s purpose. This is a great time to spend time with yourself and self-introspect your beliefs, thoughts and values. This can take about 10 – 15 minutes or more of your day, depending on how deep you are willing to get. A good start is asking yourself these questions:
- What’s YOUR meaning of life?
- Why is life worth living?
- What are your intentions for your day?
- Have you found your purpose yet? If yes, what is it? If not, what would you like it to be?
Reading a book
Is it just me or is it easier to read a book in the morning so you can get your daily reading time over and done with? With the peace, quiet and no distractions in the morning it’s easier to wind down and sink yourself in a book. A recommended book this morning is It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. If you’ve paid attention to social media, particularly TikTok then you would know this viral book. It Ends With Us is a standalone, contemporary romance novel. It has gotten so many positive reviews with one reader saying it’s a masterpiece. They love it because it’s a realistic romance novel, impactful while being entertaining. Do be prepared to cry. The book also discusses real-life issues that can be a trigger for some people so trigger warning.
Blast some music on
Barbie loves music. I don’t think I’ve ever watched a Barbie movie where there wasn’t music and dancing. She loves to sing and dance, so you’ve got to play some music and hit a tune this morning. You can listen to music while you make your bed, getting ready for your day or maybe you’ll listen as motivation to get out of bed. I know I do. So what’s on your playlist this morning? The Barbie Album duh. If you haven’t listened to the album this would be a great time to do so. Put it as background music as you do your morning tasks around your dream house. Do a home workout
You’ve got to move your body this morning. It’s a prerequisite (well in my eyes). If you were to search Barbie workouts they usually dance workouts with aerobics that are FUN. Barbie is all about having fun and enjoying yourself. She doesn’t do hard labour and intense workouts. So channel your inner Barbie with fun choreographed workouts targeting the full body. Eat a healthy breakfast
To end your morning routine, you have a healthy, nutritious breakfast. Something delicious, fun and of course pink! Try this vegan and gluten-free berry acai bowl.
Ingredients:
- Dates
- Vanilla extract
- Almonds
- Frozen berries
- Frozen bananas
- Plant-based milk
- Toppings:
- Dragon fruit
- Frozen berries
- Shredded coconut
- Chia seeds
All you do is blend the ingredients except for the berries. Once blended, add the berries last for an extra smooth acai bowl. Transfer the blended fruits into a bowl add your toppings, and enjoy!
