14 Valentine’s Day Ideas To Do Before 11 AM
Switch up your morning routine this upcoming 14th of February with a Valentine’s Day-themed morning routine. These 14 ideas can be done as part of your morning routine or just before 11 AM, before the morning ends. They can be done by yourself if you are in your era of singleness, with a partner, or with friends.
1. Make a Valentine’s Breakfast
Enjoy your Valentine’s Day morning with a delicious breakfast. One breakfast idea you can try out is a raspberry chia pudding. I got this recipe from Healthy Girl Kitchen. What I love about this breakfast idea is that it is packed with protein, antioxidants, fibre, and omega-3 fatty acids. Not only that, but it’s creamy and very yummy, and it’s very appropriate for Valentine’s Day because of the beautiful shade of pink it turns out to be. Do it the night before because the recipe needs to be refrigerated overnight, then enjoy it on the morning of Valentine’s.
You’ll need:
- 2 cups of raspberry
- 2 cups of milk
- Dash of syrup
- ¾ cups of chia seeds
- 2 cups of vegan or plain yoghurt
- Fruit for topics
Instructions:
Blend the raspberry, milk, and syrup in a blender. Once blended, transfer that into a big bowl. Once in a bowl, pour in the chia seeds, then stir til combined. Afterwards, pour in the yoghurt till combined as well. Refridget overnight. Serve and top with your favourite fruit such as bananas, and berries.

2. Listen to a music playlist
It’s always a vibe to listen to music in the morning. It gets you in the spirit and a good mood and motivates you to get out of bed. It’s so uplifting, and I’m sure you’ll catch a giggle or two.
3. Journal
If you love a slow, relaxing and quiet way to wake up in the morning, then I’d recommend doing a morning journal routine. It’s a perfect way to ease into the day by gathering your thoughts, self-reflecting and setting goals for the day. All you need is a journal and a pen. You can journal anywhere at home either in the comfort of your bed or couch or sitting at the dining table. This Valentine’s Day your theme for your journal prompts should be love. Use these journal prompts to reflect and get you inspired to write.
- Make a list of the people in your life you genuinely love
- Write about a person that you love. What makes this person special?
- Make a list of ways you could show the people in your life that you love them.
- Make a list of ways you show yourself love.
- Write about a time when you felt loved.
4. Light up some candles and set them around the house
There is something about lighting up a candle that is just so romantic, and cozy. It feels like everything is going to be okay, and bonus it makes your house smell good. Romanticize your morning this Valentine’s by lighting up some candles. Spice it up and make it fun by getting Valentine’s Day-themed candles or candles that have Valentine’s Day colours.
5. List 10 things you like or love about yourself
I feel like the theme for this morning routine is romance. It is fitting for the day. Why not take it up a notch, and write about 10 things you like or love about yourself. I know Valentine’s Day is about giving and sharing love with people in your life, but it wouldn’t hurt to just take this precious time in the morning and do the same thing for yourself. It’s beneficial and will boost your mood and reflect on the kind of person you are.
6. Have a bubble bath
Still, on the note of romanticising your life, there’s nothing more romantic than taking a hot bubble bath. I know in the morning we tend to choose the shower over the bath, but this morning is different of course. Take your lit candles with you in the bathroom to crunch up the vibes. You could also play some relaxing music or listen to a podcast.
What to put in the bath:
- Bath bomb
- Bubble bath soap
- Few drops of oil to moisturize your skin.
7. Read a book
This is specifically for my bookworms. There’s probably a book you thinking about right now that you are dying to finish up. Use this time to do so. Cozy up with your book and a cup of tea or coffee. If your goal for 2024 is to read more books, then the morning is a good time to do so. It’s a quiet time, no disturbance, and it’s a good way to learn something before your day begins. You can share among the people you meet today and have something to talk about.
8. Watch your favorite rom-com
Watching a movie in the morning? Hell yeah! Honestly, why not? We did say that this isn’t a typical morning routine, so spicing it up for Valentine’s Day. There are no rules. This morning routine idea is ideal for people who don’t have to be anywhere in the morning. They are enjoying a slow morning. Cozy up on the couch, still in your cute pyjamas, eating your breakfast and putting on your favourite rom-com. What are you putting on?
9. Go on a breakfast date
Are you not keen on making breakfast this morning, and you just need to step out of the house, and change the scenery? Then go on a breakfast date. You can invite some friends, or go with your partner. Here’s a challenge: have a solo date. Take yourself out on a date.
10. Start a Valentine’s Day-themed puzzle
Doing a puzzle in the morning doesn’t require screen time, lowers your stress levels and improves your mood. These are all great benefits to have in the morning as you are not stressed about your day. Puzzles are also very fun and even more fun with done with someone. Take this time to have quiet time, casual chats with coffee or a morning drink of your choice while not being distracted by screens. Why does it have to be Valentine’s Day-themed? Well just to get into the spirit of the day but there are no rules here, it doesn’t have to be.
11. Color in a Valentine’s Day-themed coloring book
Colour in books is not just for kids anymore. They are growing in popularity among adults. If you are thinking of getting one, then do so just in time for Valentine’s Day. Doing these in the morning has benefits such as it relaxes your brain. You get to a meditative state as art can be therapy for others. It reduces anxiety as it lowers stress and improves mood. It’s also a great way to have some quiet time to yourself. I also love that they are low maintenance- they don’t require much and you can do one anywhere. They are also a lot of fun.
12. Take a morning walk
What a great way to get out of the house for a few minutes, get some fresh air and soak in the sun (only if you wearing some SPF to protect your skin). This is also a great way to spend quality time with your partner this Valentine’s Day, but make sure you both are present which means no phones. They can be kept inside a bag or a pocket. Also a great way to distress and move your body which improves your mood.
13. Go to a coffee shop
A great way to step outside the house and visit your favourite local coffee shop. Maybe you don’t want you don’t want to do anything this Valentine’s Day like make breakfast or coffee. Maybe you want to spoil yourself and eat out and enjoy some breakfast and coffee. You do that! This is also a good time for couples or friends to go on a mini date to enjoy breakfast before the craziness of the day begins. The atmosphere at coffee shops is always enjoyable and cozy so this is never a bad option.
14. Call a loved one to wish them happy Valentine’s Day
Call a loved one this morning to wish them a happy Valentine’s Day. Mention how much you appreciate them and love them. I’m sure it will put a smile on their face.
I hope this blog post helped you plan and get an idea of how you want to spend your Valentine’s Day morning.
